yea it really is a good way to get everything out, but if you think I'm assuming she was your first true love, and her likewise, and just remember that you gave her something that no one else can, a first love, but I don't know the whole story , at least I don't think i do

the first song that came to mind was "between you and I" by Every Avenue, the first time I heard this song, i cried, no joke, its so beautiful, even though it fits what you wanted
the second song was "grenade" by Bruno Mars, you mentioned him so you probably know that song already
the next one is "breaking" by anberlin, that's a good song,'the chorus probably kind of fits but its your call
and one more is "train in vain" by the clash that one is more upbeat, but its kind of got the vibe
